Firstly the basics:
When on a machine if you are a beginner you must and this is a must not go for jackpot! If you go for jackpot you will
90% of the time either go down in money or go out! Trust me I know! So the best thing to do is go for good but small wins,
i.e. £2-£3. You keep taking these small wins and if the machine is doing well, you should get maybe a few boards in a £1.
You take £2 every board if its offering it to you and after the pound you will suddenly realise you've made £4 in a £1. It's
as simple as that!
Another little thing to look out for is to just check things like the percentages. Most of the time they're 70% payout
(bollox) This doesn't mean they're gonna pay out 70%. Usually the percentage is about 30% even though it says 70%.
When gambling on machines, grey hounds, horses, or anything, even card games. Remember that you are in control! It's
your money on the line and it's up to you whether YOU spend it or not! Pretend you go up there with £10. You win a bit, you
lose a bit. You know, the usual senario. Then all of a sudden, you win a few jackpots on random machines. At this point your
up to £20'odd. You've pretty much doubled your money and some. Here is when it's up to you. Sensibly you should go home, but
like some, including myself sometimes, this isn't the case. I know sometimes you fancy having a little extra punt and keep
going to see if you can get more. But you are the one in control and if you don't keep yourself in control of your money,
then your gonna lose. So just remember that before it gets outa hand.
Also, keep a check on your money. Make a pocket for your winnings and have a pocket for what you're spending. Then
after your spending pocket has gone you will have money in your other pocket too. But remember, the aim of gambling is to
WIN so if you want to go home with some money go at that moment. Ever heard of, "just another £1, it wont hurt?"
Exactly, once your moneys gone you feel like a fool! Don't do it!
Finally look out for POACHERS!!! Getting poached is one of the worst things to happen to you when you are punting.
If you are on a machine that you feel is ready or "doing well" then look out because most of the time others are
aware of it too. And the reason for this "Poachers" bit, being in the "Basics section" is because if you
are a beginner and don't know how to play many machines yet, then while your pumping £1 after £1 in, they're watching you
and realising that you don't have a clue how to play! You can look out for a poacher by occasionally turning around and you
will probably find that while you have been drawn in by the machine, that a small crowd of little faggots have gathered near
you or round the corner who are poking their heads round every so often. Watch out because once you have moved off of the
machine to either go or get some change they will be attracted to it faster than a fly is to shit! My recommendations to stopping
this from happening to you is that you get some change before you go on the machine and that you have enough money to play
it with. The worst thing to happen is you run out of money, they go on it and in £1-£2 they jack it! Thats a no no no! My
worst expirience is when i saw poachers watching a man and he didn't have a clue how to play "cash lab." He must
have put £10 in it and then he went off! We all knew it was ready and then as soon as his foot started walking away they were
on it! In £3 they got the top feature and did it for £25!
